Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

My approach

I have worked in the field of Diversity and Inclusion for nearly a decade now. Having initially cut my teeth in education, I have worked across many sectors including finance, retail, tech, marketing and extensive work in the third sector.

I have designed, developed and delivered hundreds of strategies and exploration sessions for my clients, aiming to create empathic and psychologically safe spaces for people to explore what Equity, Diversity and Inclusion or Belonging means to them and how they can introduce more equitable practices to the workspace.

As a Jewish, fat, queer woman who was raised by a holocaust survivor, themes around empathy and humanity have always been close to my heart. These characteristics teamed with my ADHD, dyslexia and mental health challenges can sometimes prove difficult. Although this can be tough, I aim to sit here with pride, knowing that the differences that neurodivergent minds bring are invaluable, knowing that my struggles inform my empathy and hoping that sharing my truth will make others feel comfortable enough to do so as well.

The cornerstones of my practice are; Honesty, Empathy and Congruence.

Audit

Before launching into any strategising, a deep understanding of the organisation needs to be gleaned in order to understand where the deep work needs to be conducted.  Some of the services I offer are as follows:

  • Document reviews

  • Full organisation-wide audits

  • Staff surveys and reports

  • Interview-based reports

All deep analysis of the state of equity in an organisation can be challenging, and preparation work is involved, allowing all stakeholders to be invested in the EDI journey together.

Yearly Update

Equity work is an ongoing journey. Although it would be wonderful if we could create equitable spaces with one intervention, the truth is that anti-oppressive spaces take work. In light of this, I offer a series of programmes to ensure that your workplace is always at the forefront of modern inclusive practice. These include:

  • Training and development refreshers

  • Strategising reviews

  • Linguistic updates

Strategy

No organisation will become a truly equitable space without an analysis of the organisational structure, policies and procedures and active, systemic change. In light of this, I offer:

  • Organisational exploration and analysis

  •  Recommendations

  • Longitudinal plans and roadmaps on how to get there

All strategising work is designed, planned and actioned with all levels of stakeholders throughout the organisation, as change needs to happen from the top to the bottom to be truly equitable.
